Brandon Cronenberg, que en 2012 se alzó como mejor director revelación en Sitges con “Antiviral”, se lleva el premio a la mejor película y a la mejor dirección de la 53 edición. El premio especial del jurado es para “La nuée” de Just Philippot, que también se lleva el premio a la mejor interpretación femenina para Suliane Brahim, mientras que Grégoire Ludig & David Marsais comparten el de mejor interpretación masculina por “Mandibules”.
El palmarés de la 53ª edición de Sitges – Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya ha quedado muy repartido en esta edición tan especial. “Possessor Uncut” se ha llevado los premios a la mejor película y mejor dirección de la Sección Oficial Fantàstic a competición mientras que “La vampira de Barcelona”, de Lluís Danés, ha conseguido el Gran Premio del Público.
La ópera prima de Just Philippot, “La nuée”, ha convencido al jurado de la SOFC, que lo ha galardonado con el premio a la mejor película. Márk Bodzsár, Juli Jakab y István Tasnádi ganan con “Comrade Drakulich” el premio al mejor guion, mientras que “The Luggage”, de Tsai Yi-fen gana al mejor cortometraje.
El Premio de la Crítica José Luis Garner ha sido para “Teddy”, y el Citizen Kane a la dirección revelación para Jonathan Cuartas (“My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell It To”).
